Liquid has made significant changes to their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) team. The former coach, Wilton “zews” Prado, has returned to the organization, and they are on the cusp of welcoming Felipe “skullz” Medeiros to their roster. These developments have been reported by Dust2.br.
According to the report, zews has been diligently working on assembling a new lineup for Liquid, which includes discussions with skullz. The negotiation with paiN Gaming, skullz’s former team, is valued at approximately $600,000, representing the buyout clause for the talented player. This deal is anticipated to be finalized in the coming days.
In recent reports by Dust2.us, Damian “daps” Steele is reportedly departing from Liquid as part of the team’s restructuring efforts. This latest report lends credibility to the earlier story. There have also been speculations about Robert “Patsi” Isyanov leaving the team.
Skullz has been an integral part of paiN Gaming for over a year and has emerged as one of the squad’s standout performers. He has established himself as a top-tier talent in the Brazilian CS:GO scene and has maintained the highest rating on the team for 2023. Prior to the move to Liquid, there were reports of Fluxo expressing interest in acquiring the player.
Wilton “zews” Prado is no stranger to Liquid, having previously served as the team’s coach between 2017 and 2018. During his tenure, the team achieved remarkable successes, securing top finishes at events such as cs_summit 2, ESL One New York, and IEM Chicago. They even reached the second spot in the global rankings.
If the acquisition of skullz materializes and Liquid retains Keith “NAF” Markovic and Josh “oSee” Ohm on their roster, the team would once again be primarily composed of players from the Americas. This would make them eligible to participate in the Americas Regional Major Ranking (RMR) events, including the upcoming PGL CS2 Major in Copenhagen. However, it remains unclear who will make up Liquid’s starting roster, with speculations also circulating about the potential addition of Casper “cadiaN” Møller to the team.
