In a surprising turn of events, paiN Esports is on the verge of making significant changes to its roster. According to reports from Dust2.br, the organization is finalizing a deal to sign Lucas “nqz” Soares from Legacy, while Legacy itself is set to recall Bruno “b4rtiN” Câmara from his loan at RED Canids to take nqz’s place.
nqz is set to enter the ranks of paiN Esports, displacing Cássio “cass1n” Santos, who had recently been promoted from the academy team. The decision to replace cass1n has left many fans and experts curious, as the specific reasons behind this swap remain undisclosed.
These developments have surfaced amid ongoing rumors that paiN is actively searching for an alternative to Felipe “skullz” Medeiros, who is strongly linked with a potential move to Team Liquid.
nqz’s journey in the competitive scene has been with Legacy, previously known as 00NATION, since the beginning of the year. He has maintained an impressive 1.08 rating with the squad, and the team has achieved notable domestic success, securing victories in events like the Pinnacle Cup Brasil and TG Masters Fall. However, their performance on the international stage has been less than stellar, and their recent form has been underwhelming.
On the other hand, b4rtiN brings familiarity to Legacy, having previously played alongside Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer and Bruno “latto” Rebelatto on GODSENT for 18 months spanning 2021 and 2022. Despite this, b4rtiN did not find a spot on the starting lineup when the GODSENT roster transitioned to 00NATION midway through 2022. He also took a hiatus from HLTV-recorded matches for over a year due to a stint in VALORANT. However, he has made a recent return to the upper echelons of the Brazilian Counter-Strike scene while on loan at RED Canids from the Legacy organization.
