Natus Vincere advanced to the BLAST Spring Final in Washington, D.C. after defeating Complexity 2-1 in an intense three-map series. The team, led by Andrey “B1ad3” Gorodenskiy, made a comeback on Complexity’s pick of Anubis, but had a lackluster performance on Inferno.
They needed the decider of Overpass to claim victory, recovering from an 8-14 deficit to close out the series in regulation. Despite not showcasing a world-beating level throughout the tournament, NAVI secured a spot at the Spring Final and used the event as practice for IEM Katowice, which begins in a week.
Complexity, however, was heartbroken by the loss, failing to make good on a stellar individual performance from Grim. They will now participate in the Showdown, with another opportunity to make the Spring Final.
They will play BIG on February 1st in their opening match of IEM Katowice Play-In stage, with hope of making it to the main stage.
