Astralis emerged victorious in the Knockout Stage of the BLAST Premier Spring Groups with a 2-1 victory over Ninjas in Pyjamas (Overpass 11-16, Mirage 16-7, Ancient 16-10). The team led by Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen will now proceed to the BLAST Showdown, where they will have another opportunity to qualify for the Spring Final.
NIP had to utilize a stand-in, Max “maxster” Jansson, due to Hampus “hampus” Poser’s withdrawal from the tournament due to “unforeseen personal circumstances,” and subsequently suffered two consecutive losses resulting in their elimination. Astralis will now face off against OG in a crucial match for a spot at the BLAST Premier Spring Final, scheduled for Sunday.
Astralis, featuring Christian “Buzz” Andersen in his debut and Nicolai “device” Reedtz for the first time on LAN, encountered challenges in their series against Ninjas in Pyjamas. However, they were able to bounce back from their initial defeat on Overpass, their chosen map.
Benjamin “blameF” Bremer played a crucial role in this resurgence, leading the team in scoring during their consecutive map wins on Mirage and Ancient with a 1.82 and 1.31 rating respectively.
